El Michels Affair kickstarted their forthcoming record, The Abominable EP with the kitsch offering 'Cham Cham', followed by the frenzied synth sounds on 'Messy Grass'. For this record, El Michels Affair is blending their signature cinematic soul sound with influences from Turkish Funk and the grittiest of Bollywood soundtracks. Their latest song to land is 'Idhar Udhar', featuring EMA's current favourite collaborator, Piya Malik, who speaks softly in Hindi over the track containing lead electric guitar that echoes sounds of the Malian band, Tinariwen. The track has the quality of old and dusty vinyl, plucked from the past; 'Idhar Udhar' feels as if it was found on a duke box in an abandoned bar in the desert, drawing sounds from Americana, African folk and Bollywood, it's quite the showstopper.
